GENERATION 9.1 – FIRST CHILD OF SAMUEL VANLEER
Elizabeth (Betsy) Vanleer was born 7/3/1771. Died 1856 in Virginia. Married before 1796 to Samuel Templin (b. 3/7/1762, Chester County, PA., died 11/16/1832, East Nantmeal). During the Revolution, he was in Col. Fullerton Woods’ unit, the 30th Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 15th Division. Christening records at St. James Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, indicate that there were 6 children. Family tradition believes that three of the children went with her to Virginia after her husband’s death–about 1835.
