The Van Leer Archive purpose is to collect, preserve and promote the archives of the Van Leer history. It’s also not just for family members, it’s a digital repository of historical materials and a research resource dedicated to the study of history and philanthropy. The Van Leer Archive Center (VAC) collects records in almost any format, including paper records, online research, books, photos, sound recordings, journals, and letters.
About the Archives
The Van Leer Archive was established in the 1940s by Ella Lillian Wall Van Leer through her extensive research. Portions of of her work can be founded at numerous historical societies and affiliate family archives. In the 1990’s the archives were digitized by a Van Leer descendant Peggy Burge and is now managed by various family members to secure the future of the collection.
